Position: Advocate/Resource Counselor-Full-time

Job Responsibilities

  • Oversee and implement safety and structure of program including hotel/resident checks
  • Provide support counseling and crisis intervention when appropriate
  • Provide facilitation and constructive resolution of household disputes
  • Manage hygiene, psychiatric, drug and alcohol, medical and medication issues for all residents as necessary
  • Provide advocacy based on individual resident needs
  • Meet weekly with residents, log appropriate notes in file & daily log
  • Assist residents in all steps toward achieving housing goals
  • Collect and log contributions in a timely manner
  • Provide telephone information and referral
  • Advocate on behalf of residents needing professional support services
  • Assist in the supervision and welcoming of volunteers and donors
  • Assist in training new and relief staff
  • Write clear, concise shift notes on a daily basis
  • Assist in maintenance of facility, report major maintenance issues to director
  • Perform other program tasks as needed
  • Attend and participate in weekly staff meetings and supervision
  • Attend and participate in staff in-service trainings
  • Report all professional concerns to supervisor
